Salt Lake Community College, Physical Therapist Assistant

I have been a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for the past two years, during which I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings that have helped me narrow down where my true passion lies. One of the most rewarding experiences was working for a company that collaborated closely with on-site physicians who served as the primary team doctors for the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Stars. This unique environment deepened my clinical skills and allowed me to gain exposure to a high-performance sports medicine setting.

Throughout my career so far, I’ve discovered a particular interest in treating knee injuries, spinal conditions, geriatric populations, and, when the opportunity arises, individuals with neurological disorders. I enjoy the challenge these areas bring and the fulfillment of helping patients regain function and independence.

In addition to my PTA license, I am a certified personal trainer and have worked at the Ogden Athletic Club on and off for three years. I also hold a TRX certification, which complements my approach to functional movement and rehabilitation.

I was born and raised in Washington State, where I earned my bachelor’s degree. My journey then took me to Utah to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. After four years of striving toward that goal, I chose to pivot and pursue my PTA degree at Salt Lake Community College—a decision that has opened doors to a fulfilling and dynamic career. I spent six years in Utah, where I met my husband, before we relocated to Texas. After a year and a half, we realized how much we missed the mountains and lifestyle Utah offers, which brought us back.

When I’m not treating patients, I’m usually outdoors—whether it’s mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, camping, road biking, or training for the multiple triathlons I participate in each year. I firmly believe in keeping life functional and active to maintain the highest quality of living, and I strive to instill that mindset in the patients I work with.
